Created as a private organization in 2002, the "Association des Amis de l'Institut Pasteur" became "Association Pasteur Japon" (Nihon Pasteur Kyokai) on 1st April 2005 , an organization registered as an official NPO under the Japanese Law on non-profit organizations.
Over more than a century, the Pasteur Institute has been contributing to the health of mankind through medical research, education and treatment. Taking its inspiration from the ideals of the Institute, our Association is active in promoting international exchange of researchers, specially between France and Japan, at the same time as in disseminating and making available to the public the most advanced medical information with the aim of contributing to the advancement of public health throughout the world.
Our programme includes promotion of exchange of researchers between Japan and the overseas countries, organization of meetings and symposia, publication of a periodical newsletter, book publishing, operation of a web-site, organization of seminars relating to the promotion of further use of medical patents, etc.
